Port Edward

The broad Port Edward and Munster area of the Hibiscus coast includes Palm Beach, Glenmore, Leisure Bay and is just across the bridge from the Wild Coast Sun.This pristine area contains Umtamvuna Gorge, The Red Desert and Mpenjati Nature Reserves (North and  South).


Southbroom enjoys a 4 kilometre sandy Indian Ocean beach frontage and has protected its coastal bush with passion. The green lungs provided by the well-known Southbroom Golf Club, Frederika Nature Preserve and 350,000 m2 land zoned to conservation, enhance the lush green tropical paradise that nestles between the Mbizane and Kaba Rivers.  Southbroom boasts two recognised swimming beaches and the coastal walk between them is truly spectacular thanks to the pristine condition of the primary dunes. Its two tidal pools further ensure that the needs of every beachcomber are satisfied.


Loved for its picture-postcard tropical scenery of coconut palms, grassy embankments, dunes and vibrant town, Margate is a holiday haven on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. Impressive Blue Flag facilities – ablutions, good water quality and lifeguards – are in place, with extensive shark netting to ensure safe bathing. A beautiful paved ramp leads from the beach to the promenade for stroll to the fishing pier. Margate also boasts the only olympic sized swimming pool south of Durban.

Shelly Beach

Shelly Beach is renowned for its fishing and small craft harbour. The town gets its name from the wide variety of shells that can be found on the beach after high tide. The Shelly Beach Mall and South Coast Mall has more than 100 enticing shops, department stores and cinemas, with ample secure parking.

Port Shepstone

Port Shepstone is situated on the mouth of the largest river on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, the Mzimkulu River (the great home of all rivers). 120 kilometres (75 mi) south of Durban, it is the administrative, educational and commercial centre for southern Natal Port Shepstone also boasts beautiful sandy beaches,warm waters and rich marine life. Ideal for fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving and swimming Port Shepstone offers something for everyone.


Scottburgh Main beach along with Pennington and Park Rynie have been awarded blue flag status as of the 2014/15 summer season. Scottburgh and Pennington are both very popular tourist destinations largely due to their pristine beaches and small town charm. Scottburgh along with the Cutty Sark -, Blue Marlin hotel and many B+B’s also feature an award winning caravan park and camping ground right on the beach


Divers from across the world come to Umkomaas to access the famous Aliwal Shoal. Aliwal Shoal is a world renowned reef and lies buried +- 5km out at sea.Umkomaas caters for the adventurer and holiday maker alike and offers accommodation, adventure activities and tours,curio shops, restaurants and pubs.
