Artists’ Gallery KZN is home to a collection of quirky and contemporary art, including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, art photography, and jewellery. Situated in the heart of the picturesque seaside village of Ramsgate, the Artists’ Gallery represents some of the greatest names in South African artists, including Jocelyn Boyley, Rob Wareing, Anton Benzon, Diane Erasmus, Marke Meyer, Michael Canadas, Gela Tolken and Coral Spencer. The Robert Badenhorst Collection is also featured in the Gallery.
The unique attraction of the Artists’ Gallery is that it is not just a place where art is exhibited. Instead, artist work together, sharing this space to create and interact with their clients who loiter on the veranda. Newspapers and quirky chairs welcome passers-by to stop for a cup of coffee, a delightful bite or some chatter.
Inside the Artists’ Gallery you will experience a sense of calm as you experience the talent of each individual artist. Work is exhibited in a neat, clean and uncluttered space. At least one of the artists is always at the Gallery, allowing clients to interact with him or her.
Visitors can browse the Gallery to look at art, magazines, and pamphlets and purchase lovely printed art greeting cards, art DVDs and of course, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewellery and photography, as well as works by old masters.
Di Erasmus, a well-known artist, also conducts art classes from the gallery.
