Exciting news! Ramsgate Village Guided Walking Tour starting Friday 14 December. A lovely excursion for the whole family. Contact the Eco-Tourism Office. Tel: 066 297 3200 for more info. RAMSGATE BOOK & ART FESTIVAL: 2nd – 5th August 2018

The annual Ramsgate Book & Art Festival is set in the picturesque, seaside village of Ramsgate on the Kwa-Zulu Natal South Coast. This cultural, colourful and community-driven festival is entering into its fourth year and is now firmly entrenched on the S.A. annual events calendar. 2018 sees the Festival expanding to include another day and the impressive programme kicks off on Thursday 2nd and runs until Sunday the 5th of August. The Festival takes place along the main road of Ramsgate village itself. Galleries, restaurants, antique shops, courtyards, car parks and the beautiful Whale Deck overlooking the ocean are all ‘venues’ where events unfold. All are within walking distance of each other. The Ramsgate Literary Festival 2016

PRESS RELEASE BY UGU SOUTH COAST TOURISM: The second Ramsgate Literary Festival, sponsored by Ugu South Coast Tourism, returns to the Village of Ramsgate on 24th September as part of Heritage Day Celebrations. Set in the picturesque seaside hamlet of Ramsgate on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, the Festival will once again celebrate all things unique about Ramsgate including good books, art exhibitions, quirky museums, fine wines and antiques. Both the Ramsgate and Southbroom Tourism Committees invite all business owners from these two areas to an informal get together at the gorgeous Artists’ Gallery in Ramsgate (Between the Crayfish Inn & the Lobster Pot on Marine Drive). This will be taking place on Tuesday 14 June from 5.30pm till 7pm. Sherry and perfectly prepared soups & breads will be served free of charge. Pop in directly after work. A bit of Ramsgate in Van Reenen

2 Ramsgate ‘locals’ unite for a weekend of storytelling, good food & laughter in Van Reenen this May! Some may not know but local Ramsgate residents and business owners Bill & Gail Ross-Adams also own the charming and historic Green Lantern Inn in Van Reenan. They, together with local actress and Bosman storyteller, Barbie Meyer (who can be found in the delightful mix of artists at Artists’ Gallery in Ramsgate) have conjured up an amazing night away. The overnight stay will include hilarious storytelling, good food, gorgeous old world accommodation and scrumptious breakfast at the Inn. Van Reenen is a languid four hour drive from Ramsgate. TOP SA PENCIL ARTIST VINCENT REID EXHIBITS IN RAMSGATE THIS JUNE

Artists’ Gallery in Ramsgate is home to a collective of eight top South African artists. A unique aspect of the gallery is that one or more the artists’ themselves are usually in attendance at the Gallery daily. This provides a fabulous opportunity to chat with them directly. The Gallery holds Workshops and Exhibitions on a regular basis and next up is the world renowned pencil artist Vincent Read who is part of the collective. Vincent lives and works in his studio in Howick and will be in attendance at the opening on Thursday the 16th of June, starting at 6p.m. He will be exhibiting some of his latest work and the exhibition is entitled “Drawn to Africa”.
