A visit to Riverbend Crocodile Farm is a very popular outing on the lower South Coast. The beautifully landscaped farm is home to hundreds of Nile Crocodiles, snakes, and birds.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the farm and get to know the beautiful inhabitants. For an added thrill, visitors can view feedings on Sundays at 15:00 and on some Wednesdays during the warmer summer months.
The farm offers valuable information on crocodiles and snakes, and their biology. Bring along the whole family for an insightful and comprehensive presentation in the language of your preference: English, Afrikaans, Zulu or German.
While the Riverbend Crocodile Farm focuses on crocodiles, that’s not all there is to it. The farm is home to the The Crocodile Café, which serves light lunches and afternoon teas and there are craft and curio shops that offer a variety of lovely gifts and souvenirs for everyone.
Riverbend Art and Wine Gallery opened its doors in 1984 and has exhibited the art of many well-known South African artists. The gallery supplies authentication certificates for original art pieces, as well as appraisals for insurance and estate purposes. Pieces include paintings, carvings, ceramics, pewter and more.
A select range of fine quality wines have found a home in the gallery. The cellar offers occasional wine tastings and assists local restaurants with their wine lists.
Riverbend Crocodile farm is also home to the annual South Coast Spring Wine Festival. This weekend of wine, music and art is held over a weekend every spring and has become a highlight on the South Coast social calendar.
